The Adrenalins Pumping

    My adrenal glands have been working overtime this week. Why? Because I received my copy of my ebook files and a note of congratulations from Featherweight Publishing.

    I'm so excited I'm stuck for words. Which isn't something that happens to me very often, just ask my family.

    Clicking onto www.featherweightpublishing.com and seeing the cover of my book, then reading an excerpt was a very surreal moment for me. A moment I had anticipated for sometime and I want to thank the team at Featherweight Publishing for making it possible.

Express Yourself

    When we initially pop into this world we communicate by filling our lungs with air and let out a loud cry. Then as we develop, we learn how to express ourselves in different ways.

    We laugh, cry, speak, put words down on paper, use eye contact and touch, to connect with our fellow human beings. Creative forms of expression are endless, and I've always wanted to paint, sing, or compose a piece of music. But I'm no Mary Cassatt, Etta James, or Julia Woolf, so I'll leave it to those who can.

    Of course the great thing about being a writer is that my characters can display their emotions, thoughts and feelings in ways I can't. They can sing, paint, compose and do all the things I daren't do.

Trips Off the Tongue

    Earlier this week I met up with some friends for a meal at a local eatery. Reading through the varied menu, I couldn't help but notice the wording in the meal descriptions helped tease the taste buds of the diner.

  Tempting words made the braised beef with its rich, succulent gravy, and the Thai curry with its aromatic spices, tingle tongues in anticipation.

    This creative menu made me think about the importance of adjectives in story telling and made me realise that without them, the written word can be very bland indeed. As for the food, the creator of the menu unfortunately used a heaped spoonful of writer's license.

Entry into heaven is no mean feat, as hopeful entrant Dan Pierce is finding

out. He needs to prove he's qualified, and unfortunately he can't. So when

given the opportunity to demonstrate he's worthy, it's a no brainer.

It seems that Satan is roaming Earth, he's rallying his faithful, and enlisting

young recruits to spread misery and destruction.

God's army of angels desperately need reinforcements. So in return for

enlisting in the fight against dark forces, Dan has the chance of being

rewarded with his salvation.

Volunteering isn't without its challenges, devil slaying and falling in love being

just two.

Friends

    Hope you've all had a wonderful Easter weekend and you haven't pigged out on too many Easter eggs. The chocolate eggs I did skip on, because I'm trying to lose some weight before the summer comes along.

    Easter Sunday itself, for me was time to catch up with some friends whom I haven't seen for many years, as we live a distance apart. We spent several hours reminiscing about old times and discovered new things about each other, over lunch in a pub.

    We chatted about our families, holidays, good times, bad times, future hopes and aspirations. We also made arrangements to catch up in a couple of months. Personally, Easter weekend was a very special time.

Meet a Friend

    I was pleased this week to receive an invitation from an author friend of mine, Aron Joice, to do a Q & A feature for her blog. This is a first time for me as I'm a Q & A, virgin so to speak and I'm truly grateful to her for the invite.

    My book 'Salvation,No Kissing Required' will be released by, Featherweight Press within the next couple of months, so it's a wonderful opportunity for me.

    I've only been using social media for approximately six months, and in that time it has never ceased to amaze me the number of wonderful, warm generous friends I have made.

Course Work

    Many years ago I completed a creative writing course. Initially, I couldn't see the point of writing short non fiction pieces when I wanted to write a novel. But as the course progressed the mist cleared,although each section wasn't without its challenges things did fall into place.

    But, the course itself taught me that there was more to writing than just having a good idea. From sections in developing style, writing for magazines, to plotting novels. Personally, I found the course worthwhile.
