Where the Similarities End

Castillo del Mar, La Gomera
Last year I told you about my vacation on the island of La Gomera in the Canary Islands, Spain and informed you that film director Ron Howard was going to be filming scenes of, In The Heart of the Sea there.

Although his cast and crew members have been and gone now, the Canary islands are still buzzing with excitement as it seems that scenes from the Fifty Shades of Grey movie, directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson are going to be filmed on the neighbouring island of Tenerife in the coming months.

The two islands are heavily dependent on tourists and like the rest of the world they've been finding things a little tough going in the last couple of years. Therefore the money generated by these visitors is welcomed.

Both films are due to be released early 2015 and the production teams chose locations in the Canaries, but I think I can safely assume that's where the similarities of the two films will end. Don't you?
